Registration is open for the 2014 PROJECT RESCUE Workshop.

Be inspired, develop your photography skills, and help to speed homeless dogs and cats on their journey to forever homes.

The Workshop

This workshop is for the volunteer, non-professional photographer who wants to:

  • Better understand basic camera operations
  • Understand the exposure triangle and how to make it work for you
  • Recognize the characteristics of a “good” adoption photo
  • Develop an inexpensive arsenal of attention getters
  • Find or set-up backgrounds that puts the focus on to the animal
  • Learn tips and tricks to working with cats and dogs
  • Discover simple, inexpensive ways to add professional-style lighting
  • Gain basic post-processing skills that will take your photos to the next level
  • Gain hands on experience using your new skills photographing dogs and cats

Who Should Attend

This is a beginner level workshop for individuals interested in improving their pet photography skills to supporting animal rescues and shelters.  It is not targeted toward professional pet photographers, and no business/marketing topics will be covered

The Cost


$500 is due at registration, with the remaining $195 due by August 10, 2014.

After August 1, 2014 full payment of $695 is due at registration.

The Instructors

Jenny Froh and Jim Hoover are professional photographers specializing exclusively in Pet Photography.  They are both PPA Certified Professional Photographers (CPP) accredited, International Print Competition winners and medalists, HeARTs Speak members, and have years of experience photographing for shelters and rescues.

Barbara Breitsameter, PPA 2013 Platinum Photographer of the Year, will be assisting with the workshop.
